Cycletide consumer health data privacy policy
Cycletide is not available yet. This is the pre-release version of this document: it describes the app as it is built today, and it will be finalised before the app is released.
This policy explains what consumer health data PT TECHNOLOGIES LLC, through its PT Health & Vital Care division, collects through Cycletide, why, who receives it, and how you can use your rights. It applies to residents of Washington, Nevada and Connecticut, and we apply it to everyone in the United States. Our general Privacy Policy has more detail.
What We Do Not Collect
What you record in Cycletide (periods, symptoms, moods, notes, pregnancy details and the rest) is stored only on your phone, in an encrypted database. We do not receive it and cannot read it. We do not sell consumer health data, we do not use it for advertising, and we do not use your location or geofencing.
Consumer Health Data We Collect, and Why
We collect consumer health data only when you turn on one of these optional features, and only to provide it:
- Encrypted backup (off until you turn it on): an encrypted copy of your records, so you can restore them on a new phone. It is encrypted on your phone with a key only you hold, so we cannot read it. While it is on, your phone updates it about once a day while you use the app, when your records have changed. A backup that has not been updated for 24 months is deleted automatically.
- Partner sharing (off until you turn it on): the short summary you choose to share (your cycle status, your next estimated period and/or your pregnancy week, and a display name if you set one), so the person you invite can see it. It is encrypted on your phone with a key that travels only inside your invitation, so we cannot read it.
- Network information, such as your IP address, when your phone contacts our servers for these features. Because it shows that you use a health app, we treat it as consumer health data. We use it only to deliver the feature and protect the service, never to learn anything about your health. Our servers do not keep it; our hosting provider's request logs are deleted after 30 days.
Purchases and the free preview check contain no health information.
Where It Comes From
From you: your phone sends it to our servers when you use one of the features above.
Consumer Health Data We Share, and With Whom
- The person you invite to partner sharing, who receives the summary you chose, at your direction.
- Our hosting provider, Google Cloud (Firebase), which stores the encrypted backup and partner summaries and processes network information on our behalf, under our instructions. It cannot read the encrypted data.
We do not share consumer health data with anyone else, and no affiliate receives it.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- confirm whether we collect, share or sell consumer health data about you, and see it, including a list of the third parties and affiliates with whom we share it;
- withdraw your consent: turn off the encrypted backup, or stop partner sharing, at any time;
- delete it: in the app, Settings → Privacy Center → Delete all data deletes your records, your encrypted backup and your partner sharing summary. You can also turn off and delete the backup, or stop sharing, on their own screens.
To make a request, use the controls in the app, or write to support@techatpt.com. Requests are free. We answer within 45 days; if we need more time, we will tell you within those 45 days and may take up to 45 more. Cycletide has no accounts, so we do not know who you are: to find your backup or summary, we may ask you to make the request from the app.
If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We will answer your appeal in writing within 45 days, with our reasons. If we still decline, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General at https://www.atg.wa.gov/file-complaint, or to the attorney general of your state.
Changes
Before we collect or share any other kind of consumer health data, or use it for any other purpose, we will update this policy and ask for your consent.
